The first color features a textured basketweave pattern framed with I-cord edges. The basketweave motif increases in size to shape the semi-circular shawl. Use a color pop or splashy speckled yarn for the smocked border with crisp twisted stitches. Large yarn overs and short rows complete the shawl, resulting in an exaggerated holey effect. A final picot bind off mimics bouquets of flowers blooming from the lacey border. The textures of this shawl are a delight to knit, especially with a soft and silky yarn like Qing Fibre Yak Singles.
