Daybreak

Daybreak

Daybreak is a beginner friendly shawl project knit top-down from the center of the wingspan edge to the border. Stockinette stitch with slip stitch stripes form the radiating sun motif.

Choose one skein of each color (main color + contrast color) in fingering weight yarn for a graphic two-color version. You can use as many contrast colors as you like to create a gradient sunset effect. The pink-purple sample features one main color in cream with six juicy mini skein color pops for the contrast colors. These contrast stripes are perfect for mini skeins or leftover amounts of fingering weight yarn. Self-striping yarns are also fabulous for a color changing contrast color. Daybreak comes in three sizes to accommodate a variety of different yarn amounts. Cast on this classic Westknits pattern and knit into the sunrise or sunset.
