Houses of Reykjavik Blanket

Houses of Reykjavik Blanket

Gather a collection of DK weight yarns to knit this blanket inspired by the colorful houses of Reykjavik. The blanket begins with the color block parallelogram shapes and short row triangles. Then stitches are picked up to decrease toward the center of the blanket with tiny bobble stripes and two-color brioche. The border is picked up around the other edge of the geometric color blocked section to knit the briochevron motif. Wavy stripes complete the border for a splashy grand finale.

Use as many colors as you like to knit a stashbusting version or try a soft merino wool like West Wool Tandem to show off the textured stitches and crisp color blocks. The pattern features a modular construction with sections knitted together, so there is no seaming at the end.
