Dear Campers,

Growing up in Spotorno—a tiny town by the sea—meant my summers had one defining feature: the beach! My mum loved basking in the sun, so when school let out for our three-month holiday, she made sure I spent my days there (even when I would’ve rather been playing video games!).

While I would have rather been playing video games inside, I did enjoy the ultimate beach snack: Krapfen! These fried, sugar-coated doughnuts were sold by kids shouting “KRAPFEEEEEN” under the blazing sun. My favourite was always the cherry jam-filled one.

These days, my favourite summer tradition is turning on the Aircon and getting gelato with friends. 

I take inspiration from video game art—breaking down palettes, recreating moods, and transforming them into marled and speckled colourways. I can't wait for you to see the summery shades we've developed for YAL this summer!
