  • This is a PDF knitting pattern.

This pattern is included for free with my workshop called Colorplay the Westknits Way: Marling. This online workshop is available to purchase on my website Westknits and you can watch it at any time at your own pace.

This brimmed hat is a quick and easy stashbuster. Hold two strands throughout the entire hat to use lots of leftover bits of fingering weight yarn. The ribbed brim keeps your ears toasty warm while the moss stitch fabric displays all your favorite colors. Instructions include tips on marling and how to get a beautifully blended fabric. Dive into your stash and melt colors together for this beginner friendly hat.

  •  Finished Measurements
20″ / 51cm brim circumference, 9″ / 23cm long from bottom to top of hat while the brim is folded. Measurements taken after blocking.
Hat is shown on a 22.5″ / 57cm head circumference.

    Yarn
    Fingering weight held double
Lace weight mohair yarns are also used for fluffy marled accents

    Yardage
The sample used approximately 86g of yarn total.

Gather more yarn than you think you will need, so you have plenty of colors to choose from. If you have a pile with about 100g of colorful options, then you will have more than enough yarn to knit this hat.

Magic Loop method is used for knitting in the round.
