  • This is a PDF knitting pattern.

Select five colors and fade them from light to dark in this easy to knit garter stitch shawl. Begin at the corner and knit sideways while working increases and decreases to form the waves. Eyelets decorate the fabric and a soft fluidity to the fabric. I-cord edges frame the asymmetrical triangle shape for a crisp clean look. The pattern is written for five colorways, but you can use as many colors as you like. The size is easy to customize by binding off early for a shorter shawl or knit more pattern repeats for a large luxurious shlanket.

  • Finished Measurements
60″ / 152cm wingspan length, 42″ / 107cm at widest part. Measurements taken after blocking.

You can create a larger shawl by continuing the pattern repeat as many times as you like. If you work more pattern repeats for a larger than recommended size, you will need more than the specified yardage requirements.

    Notions
    7 stitch markers, tapestry needle

    Gauge
    24 sts & 48 rows = 4″ / 10cm in garter stitch after blocking

    Pattern Note
If your skeins of yarn have approximately 394 yds / 360m per 100g, you can follow the same instructions to fade in the colors. If your yardage is significantly more than 394 yds / 360m (like if you have 450yds or more per 100g), you may need to go down a needle size. If you want to use all of your yardage, you can work extra pattern repeats to make the shawl as large as you want. The size is very easy to customize by simply binding off early for a smaller shawl or keep on knittin' kitten for a larger size.
