  • This is a PDF knitting pattern.

Gather all your fingering weight yarns together to knit this stash busting blanket. Hold two strands of fingering weight yarn together throughout the entire project as you mix and marl your yarns together. This blanket is fun modular knitting journey as you knit from the center outward. Each stripe is knitted one at a time as you pick up sts from previous sections for a completely seamless knitting process. This project is ideal for leftovers and single skeins. Get cozy with rows and rows of squishy garter stitch and little brioche breaks. You can easily customize the rectangular size by binding off after completing any pattern repeat. Make a cute baby blanket or a large bedspread with your colorful yarn collection!

  • Sizes
    One size, customizable

The size is easy to customize by adding more sections for a larger blanket or simply bind off earlier for a smaller size.

    Finished Measurements
    82″ / 208cm long, 78″ / 198cm wide. Measurements taken after blocking.

    Yarn
    Fingering weight held double

You can also use DK or worsted weight yarn if you want to hold 1 strand of yarn throughout the blanket.

    Yardage
Approximately 9000yds / 8230m total for the large sample size

The yardage may vary depending on the size you knit. You can stop early after completing any pattern repeat from a smaller size. The yardage estimate represents the total amount of yarn used. Yarn is held double throughout the entire project.

    Needles
Four sets US 8 / 5mm circular in 40″ / 100cm length or size needed to obtain gauge

The project is knit with 4 sides of modular blocks, so if you have 4 needles, then you can knit each of the 4 sides with a different needle. You can also place the sts from shorter sides onto waste yarn after each block, so you don’t have to have so many needles attached to your project at the same time.

    Notions
    Tapestry needle, waste yarn (optional)

    Gauge

    18 sts & 36 rows = 4″ / 10cm in garter stitch after blocking

    Pattern Notes
In two-color brioche stitch, two rows are worked for each counted row that appears on the face of the fabric. The first color is worked across the row and then the row is worked again using the second color. The next row is worked the same way, once across with the first color and worked again with the second color. When counting rows, count only the stitches going up on a knit column. 2 worked rows = 1 counted row.

When you put down your knitting and forget which color you just used and which color to use next, look at the color of the yo in the row just worked. That is the last color you used.
