This marled cowl is a perfect stashbuster for your fingering weight yarns. Hold two strands throughout the entire cowl as you fade and melt your colors together. The cowl is knit in the round and then seamed together for an ultra warm and double thick fabric. The ribbed sections are shaped to form a colorful hooded effect to keep your ears and head warm.

Instructions include tips on marling and how to get a beautifully blended fabric. Dive into your stash and melt colors together for this beginner friendly cowl.

  • Finished Measurements
40″ / 102cm at widest part measured along the moss stitch fabric, 26″ / 66cm circumference around the neck. Measurements taken after blocking.

    Yarn
    Fingering weight held double
Lace weight mohair yarns are also used for fluffy marled accents

    Yardage
The sample used approximately 315g of yarn total.
The dark blue ribbed section used about 64g (32g of each strand).

Gather more yarn than you think you will need, so you have plenty of colors to choose from. If you have a pile with about 500g of colorful options, then you will have more than enough yarn to knit this cowl.

Magic Loop method is used for knitting in the round.
