This is a PDF knitting pattern.
This slouchy hat is combination platter of different knitting techniques and construction methods. First, a fair isle strip is worked flat, but the yarn is cut after each row so you only have to do stranding on the knit side. Then, stockinette stitch with garter ridge stripes adds texture to the sideways body. Stitches are picked up in the round for the contrasting cabled brim with a rolled stockinette edge and the crown shaping also features cables in the round. The long cut ends from the fair isle strip are woven into the brim for a decorative look that also saves you from weaving each strand individually into the fabric.
