- This is a pdf knitting pattern.
These socks feature a bold slip stitch cable with two colors of fingering weight sock yarn. The main color is used for the cuff, heel, toe, and slip stitch columns while the contrast color creates garter stitch stripes. Choose two solid colors or try a marled self-striping yarn like Spincycle Yarns Dyed in the Wool for the smooth color changing stripes. These socks are knit top-down in the round, so you can easily customize the length of the leg and foot while you knit. -

Yarn
Size 4 shown on a US 13 / EU 47 size foot with an actual foot circumference of 10″ / 25cm.
Socks are designed to fit an actual foot circumference of 6.5 [7.5, 8.5, 9.5, 11]″ / 17 [19, 22, 24, 28]cm. The socks are designed to fit with negative ease. Choose a size with a finished foot circumference measurement that is approximately 1″ / 2.5cm smaller than your actual foot circumference, so that the sock will fit nice and snug on your foot.
The lengths of the cuff, leg, and foot are easily customizable by knitting more pattern repeats for a longer leg or foot or fewer pattern repeats for a shorter leg or foot.

Yarn Ideas
Schoppel Wolle Zauberball Crazy is a great self-striping marled yarn. One ball of this yarn would work great for the contrast color. I recommend using a solid or semi-solid yarn for the main color to make the texture and traveling cables pop. Experiment with different yarn combinations and have fun!
