  • This is a PDF knitting pattern.

This magically marled sweater is knit with two strands of yarn held together. One strand of Qing Fibre Melted Baby Suri held together with one strand of fingering weight wool is used for the body sleeves and fluffy yoke sections. Two strands of fingering weight wool are held together for the welts, cuffs, and stranded yoke motifs for a more matte crispy color effect. The sweater is seamlessly knit top-down with welted saddle shoulders and a clever yoke construction. This pattern is ideal for eating up leftover bits of fingering weight yarn.

    Yarn
    Worsted weight
I used two strands of fingering weight held together for the shoulder welts, yoke motifs, and ribbed edges. The rest of the yoke, body, & sleeves features one strand of Qing Fibre Melted Baby Suri alpaca held together with one strand of fingering weight wool.

If you’d like a similar yarn effect with the Melted Suri, I recommend having 5 (5, 6, 6, 7, 8) skeins of Qing Fibre Melted Baby Suri.

    Yardage
5 (5, 6, 6, 7, 8) skeins of Qing Fibre Melted Baby Suri for the fuzzy body, yoke, & sleeves.
    Approximately 500 (500, 600, 600, 700, 700)g of fingering weight yarn in various colors.

Gather a pile of fingering weight yarn for the second strand. The sample used approximately 10 colors of fingering weight wool. You can mix full skeins with leftover amounts of yarn. I recommend having at least 5 (5, 6, 6, 7, 7) 100g skeins of fingering weight yarn available for the sweater to mix with the suri alpaca. You won’t use all of the fingering weight yarn, but it’s best to have plenty of colors to play with as you knit through all the sections.

Two strands of fingering weight wool held together throughout the entire project would also be lovely if you don’t have the Qing Fibre Melted Suri alpaca. It’s a similar creative color explosion to Penguono. Gather a big pile of colors together to inspire you while you knit.
