Daniel is an amazing Westknitter living in Bedfordshire, UK, not too far from London, but still among the beautiful countryside where he walks his dogs and knits the most beautiful shawls and sweaters. He has made over 20 Westknits projects!
As a child, his favorite color was blue, however, he's opened his mind to other colors, but it goes in phases. Recently, He's been through a yellow and a green phase!
Among his favorite Westknits patterns are the "Askews Me Sweater" and "Extra Textures"
(Yes! The one on this picture!) He's a Sub-editor by day, so his job is to notice things, but knitting has helped him cope with his perfectionism, and as Daniel would say about his knitting "as the final object is always beautiful, despite its flaws!"
As he's become more confident in his knitting, he's tended to practice project-monogamy, though, if there’s something he can’t wait to cast on, he'll occasionally have two things on-the go at the same time. He is in favor of more experimentation with brioche! But also excited to see what comes next.
"I’ve been so lucky to be able to test knit a few of his designs!" He has made so many beautiful interpretations of Westknits projects and one of the reasons why he does it is the texture, He says "I just love the textures Stephen creates and the way he paints with yarn in his samples! I also love the themes he explores with the stitches he creates – I’m a sucker for matching garments!"
